Parkerizing
Agent DH-L4330
1.
General introduction
DH-L4330 is a parkerizing agent used for
wire drawing, main for iron-steel products
produced in successive drawing. By means of
a short time pickling, the agent forms a
thin yet evn parkerizing film on the surface
of the wire. The film is very stable with
lubricants. It shows an excellent quality
through cold–drawing process. It reduces the
friction between metal pieces and lengthens
the service life of tools. The drawing
process is quickened and material consumed
lessened. Wires treated with it have a shiny
and refined surface.

Preparing the tank(1000L)
a)
Let the tank contain water up to 80% of the
total volume.
b)
Add 170kg of DH-L4330A, and stir well.
c)
Pour in more water to make up the total
volume(1000L).
d)
Heat the liquid to the temperature required,
then test the acidity.
e)
Add 0.5kg of activator AC1, and stir well.

General acidity --- 16-18pt
Density of activator ---
0.8-2.5pt
Temperature --- 80-85°C

than 15 seconds

Supplement and adjustment(for 1000L liquid)
Density should be tested at regular
intervals. Adding the agent frequently and
bit after bit will bring satisfactory
results. Every 10kg of DH-L4330B can raise
the general acidity by 1pt. But in case of
unexpected overflowing or getting deposits
away and loss of the liquid being caused,
DH-L4330A nust be added to adjust the
general acidity. Every 2.5kg of DH-L4330A
can increase general acidity by 1pt.
Activator ---
Activator in the liquid is consuming even
while no work pieces are being treated. So
its density should be tested in the process
of treatment and extra activator be added to
maintain the required density. Every 150g of
activator AC1 can increase the acidity by
1pt.

Testing methods
General acidity --- Transfer 10ml of the
liquid with a suction pipet into a 250ml
beaker and add 5 or 6 drops of
phenolphthalein. Titrate with NaOH(0.1N).
When the color turns from colorless to pink,
it is the end of the titration. The number
of ml used is the value of general acidity.
Density of activator
--- Fill a fermentation tube with the
treating liquid. Add 2-5g of sulphanilamide.
Block the tube, turn it upside down and
shake it vertically. Then let it stand still
for 2 minutes. The volume of the gas
produced as indicated by the scales will be
the density of the activator. One scale
means one pt.

Lubricating
After
the parkerizing treatment, different kinds
of lubricants may be chosen for different
purposes.
9. Materials of the
apparatuses
The parkerizing tank
should be made of stainless steel. A tank
made of carbon steel has a shorter service
life. The heat exchanger, the piping and the
pump should be made of stainless steel.
10. Deposits removing
The best way to rid
the tank of deposits is to pump the whole
lot of the liquid into a deposit tower or
deposit pool, and then return the clean
liquid to the parkerizing tank..
